New to the IMAPS Staff

gregcas.gif - 5889 BytesI would like to introduce Brian Schieman who joined IMAPS on October 23, 2000, as the new Director, Information Technology and E-Business. Brian will be responsible for managing the IMAPS network, including all hardware and software. He is currently involved with upgrading the network and completing the relocation to our new Washington, DC office. Additionally, he will be responsible for maintaining and improving all IMAPS databases and will handle the design of all those that help shape the future of IMAPS. In an E-Business capacity, Brian will be responsible for Website development and management. Brian will manage IMAPS.org to make it more efficient and productive with hopes of branding IMAPS as the leader of the on-line Microelectronics industry.

Brian is excited to have joined the IMAPS family. He has already begun to improve the information technology and on-line operations of IMAPS. Brian hopes to redesign the website over the next few months, working closely with staff, members and users to develop the ideal IMAPS on-line experience. One other project Brian will dedicate his time to, is the development of IMAPS 2001. He looks forward to putting together a one-stop-online-shop for the 2001 symposium.

Brian comes to IMAPS with a well-rounded background in networking, website design, databases, user support, customer service, and administrative and managerial issues. Brian graduated Lafayette College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While working for a state government relations firm in Arlington, Virginia, he continued following his interest in computers and began his official transition into the information technology arena. After a short stint as an information systems contractor for the USEPA, Brian transitioned into an IT position with a political nonprofit. During his tenure with that organization, Brian began his relationship with IMAPS working as an independent networking consultant. At night, Brian is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University and hopes to complete the program during the summer of 2001.

Please join me in welcoming Brian to the staff and email him with any comments/suggestions about web or IT issues bschieman@imaps.org
