CHEMET Now METALOR
Chemet Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metaux Precieux SA Metalor, has recently reorganized as Metalor Technologies, a matrix organization with entities throughout Europe, the US and Asia. Chemet will now operate as Metalor Advanced Materials Division. The new identity signifies Chemet’s full integration into the parent company.
FERRO Initiates Major Expansion in New York
Ferro Electronics Materials has announced a multi-million dollar capital expansion program for its Penn Yan and Niagara Falls, NY, facilities. The expansion will include new chemical precipitation equipment, clean room manufacturing environments, and further advanced material processing technology which will increase Ferro’s annual production capacity for high purity barium titanate and formulated dielectrics by four million pounds. Completion of the new facility is expected by July 1, 2001.
LOCTITE Acquires Power Devices
Loctite Corp. has announced the acquisition of Power Devices, Inc., of Laguna Hills, CA, a leading supplier of phase change thermal management technology for electronic and electromechanical applications. Stephen Merkel, President of Loctite, stated, "This acquisition will enable Loctite to expand its focus on thermally conductive technology.
By combining two technically diverse organizations, we become a single company with an exceptional focus."
Alan Lewis is Named Application Technology Manager at ASYMTEK
Alan Lewis is the new Application Technology Manager at Asymtek, A Nordson Company. He will be responsible for engineering, design and process development for fluid dispensing valves and pumps on Asymtek products and will provide manufacturing support and oversight for Asymtekís Centers of Excellence. Lewis joined Asymtek in 1994 as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff in Mechanical Engineering and advanced to Dispensing Technology Manager in 1996. He holds a BSME and a MSME from the University of Missouri.

Kaskade Promoted to President
Jim Hjerpe Kaskade has been promoted to President. He was formerly VP of Marketing and Sales. Mr. Kaskade is also a co-founder of INCEP and has over 12 years of experience in developing and marketing proprietary technologies and services.
Dietz is New V.P. of Marketing and Sales
James (Jim) E. Dietz has been appointed Vice President of Marketing and Sales at INCEP. He was previously Director of Product Management for Terradata Systems at NCR. Dietz brings more than 30 years of experience to INCEP not only in sales but his broad engineering background makes him ideal for the position.
QUAD Names New European General Manager and Director
Stephen L. Farragher has been appointed as the new General Manager and Director of Quad Europe LTD. He was previously European Sales Manager at the QEL headquarters in the United Kingdom. Farragher joined Quad in 1997 as Sales Manager for Northern Europe. He earned a higher national diploma in electronics engineering and business studies form Leeds University, Yorkshire, England.
DIELECTRIC Names Two New Executives
Brian DuPell and Walt Dolman have joined the management team of Dielectric Laboratories, Inc.
DuPell is the new Executive Vice President and General Manager. His previous position was Senior Vice President and General Manager of TAM Ceramics and he served for 20 years with BASF.
Dolman is the new Director of Sales and Marketing. He comes to DLI with over 15 years of experience as Business Unit Manager of CeramTec North America Electronic Applications.
Jon Prokop New Manufacturing Chief at RF Monolithics
Jon Prokop is the new VP of Manufacturing at RF Monolithics. Jon was the Director of Manufacturing Engineering. He joined RF in 1998 and as been involved with the company’s process improvements and offshore manufacturing programs. In his new position, Jon will be responsible for RFM’s fabrication operation, assembly factories, and manufacturing support functions.
MRSI
Recognized for Outstanding Performance by Alcatel
MRSI has announced the receipt of an appreciation plaque from Alcatel Space Industries, Toulouse, France. The plaque displays the pictures of satellites and a microwave module and reads: "Alcatel Space Industries recognizes and appreciates the outstanding performances of the MRSI505 for epoxy dispensing and highly accurate placement. This machine is now qualified on microwave hybrid manufacturing for space applications."
Appoints Cronin Sales Engineer
Peter Cronin has been appointed Sales Engineer by MRSI. He will be based in MRSI Group headquarters in North Billerica, MA. Peter spent three years at Lockheed Martin where he worked on space and military microwave applications. He holds a BA from UMASS and a MS in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University.
