About The Technical Program

The 2001 Symposium Committee and the IMAPS National Technical Committee have put together a program package that is built specifically to help you in your job and your career. It includes educational opportunities, a rounded technical program, and a few worthwhile diversions. All are in a setting you should find pleasant to visit here in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area.

The program will start on Sunday and Monday, October 7 and 8, with a slate of Professional Development Courses (PDCs) that show an exceptional span -- from fundamentals (hybrids and MEMS) to core technologies (wirebonding and screen printing) to packaging to reliability. A welcome reception on Monday evening gives everyone a chance to renew friendships and meet new people. The sessions start on Tuesday, October 9, with a plenary session kickoff followed by “focus” sessions that include some of our industry’s hotter topics like MEMS and high-density organic board technology. The sessions have a wide array of topics that should appeal well to our attendees. There are 24 sessions to be held between October 9 and 11th, whose topics span a breadth of issues in materials, processes, design, applications and reliability. Our technical members should find ample opportunity to network on technologies of direct interest to them personally. Of course, the exhibits area affords our attendees the chance to find ways to put their new-found interests into practice.

We’ve worked hard to give you the opportunity to find information of interest to you directly, and the chance to interact with others interested in your area of work. You’ll also like the after-hours opportunities available to you, with many inner harbor restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. A number of inner harbor and Baltimore area attractions can be previewed through the IMAPS 2001 website, www.imaps2001.org, under “Find things to do while in or around Baltimore.” So come to Baltimore, get some work done, have some fun, and make the symposium a worthwhile experience!
